Bath Shower Screens Sydney: Over Bath Panels, Hinged and Sliding

A bath shower screen, also called a shower bath screen, turns a bath into a shower without a curtain. Showerland makes over bath shower screens to your measurements, as a fixed panel, a hinged panel and door, or a sliding door, in a frameless, semi frameless or fully framed build. We fit them across Sydney from our Blacktown base, our installer does the work, and it is covered by our 12 month workmanship warranty.

Over bath shower screen options

Start with the layout, then choose the build. Every layout below is priced on measure, because the bath edge and the room decide the figure.

Fixed panel

Over bath shower screens: a frameless fixed glass panel on a bath installed in Wiley Park
Frameless fixed panel, Wiley Park

A single sheet of glass fixed to the bath edge to stop spray on the open side. It is the simplest layout and the lightest-looking. For the frameless version, see our fixed glass panel screens. Priced on measure.

Hinged panel and door

Frameless glass panel and door over a bath installed in North Curl Curl
Frameless panel and door, North Curl Curl

A panel with a door hung from it on hinges, fixed to the bath edge. It suits a bath with room for the door to swing, and we check the swing against the tap end at the measure. Priced on measure.

Sliding

Fully framed sliding screen over a bath installed in Stanmore
Fully framed sliding screen, Stanmore

The door runs on a track across the bath, so nothing swings into the room. It suits a narrow bathroom or a tap end that would catch a hinged door. See our sliding shower screens. Priced on measure.

Wall to wall

Glass runs along the open side of the bath from one wall to the other, with a door set into it, so the whole length of the bath is covered. Priced on measure.

Where the bath sits in a corner, the screen can follow it with a corner or diamond shape; see our frameless corner shower screens. We confirm what suits your bath at the measure.

The three builds look different and suit different budgets:

Frameless

10mm toughened glass with no frame, held by hinges and brackets in chrome, matt black, brushed nickel or brass. The cleanest look. See our frameless shower screens.

Semi frameless

6mm toughened glass with a slim frame in six finishes. You see more glass and less metal than a full frame. See our semi frameless shower screens.

Fully framed

Toughened safety glass in a full aluminium frame in white, silver or matt black. The most watertight of the three and a budget friendly one. See our fully framed screens.

Measuring for a screen over a bath

A bath changes what we measure. These are the things we check at the visit, because they decide how the glass is cut and where it sits.

The bath edge. The edge is rarely level or flat, and it often curves where it meets the wall. We measure along it at more than one point, so the glass sits cleanly on the edge.

The bath lip. We measure the width of the lip too, because it decides how much room there is to fix the glass.

The tap end. Taps and the spout sit where a door wants to swing. A screen that catches them is a screen you stop using, so we plan the layout around them.

Splash and the shower head. Where the head points and how far the spray travels decide whether a short panel is enough or the screen needs to run the length of the bath.

Walls and tile lines. We check that the walls are straight and plumb at each end, because tiles are rarely perfectly square.

Toughened glass cannot be cut once it is made, which is why we measure first and have the glass cut to your bath, not to a stock size.

Over bath shower screen price

An over bath screen is priced on measure, because the layout, the length of the edge, the door type and the build all change the figure. A frameless layout and a framed one carry different glass and hardware, and a sliding door and a hinged door are priced differently.

As a guide to each type, not a price for any layout: frameless starts from $880 installed for a fixed panel, and custom shapes such as corner, diamond and tile-following run from $1,400 to $3,850. Semi frameless starts from $990 and fully framed from $935. If we are taking an old screen out, removal and disposal is priced in the same quote.

Your exact price comes after we measure. Once we have measured, the price we quote is the price you pay. The measure visit is $55, and that $55 is credited to your install if you go ahead. For all the published starting prices together, see our shower screen pricing page.

Questions about bath shower screens

Most baths take one. We measure the bath lip, the edge and the tap position first. A very narrow or strongly curved edge changes which layout fits, and we tell you at the measure what works.

A fixed panel is the simplest and suits a shower where the spray travels one way. A hinged panel and door gives a clear opening when there is room to swing it. A sliding door is the answer when the tap end or the room is tight. Tell us the bathroom and we say which suits it.

Yes. A fixed panel on the bath edge is the lightest layout. How much spray it stops depends on where the shower head points, which we check at the measure.

Frameless screens use 10mm toughened glass and semi frameless use 6mm toughened glass. Fully framed screens use toughened safety glass in an aluminium frame. Toughened glass is heat treated for strength, and if it ever does break it breaks into small pieces rather than long shards.

Yes. We measure with the old screen in place, make the new one to fit your bath, then take the old one out and fit the new one. Removal and disposal is priced in the same quote. If only a hinge, a roller or a seal has failed, see our shower screen repairs page first.

The installation itself takes about 2 hours once our installer arrives. We confirm your install date with you after the measure.

We're fully booked until Monday 3 November 2026. A deposit can still lock in your install slot from that date.

Our 12 month workmanship warranty covers the installation work. If something we fitted is not right, call 0421 717 044.
