Sliding Shower Screens Sydney: Framed, Semi Frameless or Frameless
A sliding shower screen suits the bathroom where a hinged door has nowhere to swing. The door runs along a track instead, so nothing opens into the room. Showerland makes sliding screens in three builds: fully framed, semi frameless and frameless. We fit them across Sydney from our Blacktown base. Every screen is cut to your measurements, fitted by our installer and covered by our 12 month workmanship warranty.
When a sliding shower screen is the right call
Choose one when the room is tight. A vanity that sits in the swing path, a toilet beside the shower, or a bathroom door that opens close to the screen all rule out a hinged door that swings out. A narrow ensuite is the classic case.
It also suits a bath and shower in one, where a hinged door would catch the tap end or the bath edge.
If you have a clear metre in front of the shower and nothing in the way, a hinged door is often simpler, and we will say so at the measure. We would rather fit the screen that works in your bathroom than the one that is easiest to sell.
Three ways to slide
Each build below has a different look and its own page. A sliding screen is priced on measure, because the door hardware and your opening decide the figure. The starting price named for each type is a guide to the type only.
Fully framed sliding. Priced on measure.

Aluminium frame around each glass panel, with the door running in a track. The most watertight of the three and the most affordable. Fully framed screens start from $935 installed. See our fully framed shower screens.
Semi frameless sliding. Priced on measure.

6mm toughened glass with a slim frame, in six finishes. You see more glass and less metal than a fully framed screen. Semi frameless screens start from $990 installed. See our semi frameless shower screens.
Frameless sliding. Priced on measure.

10mm toughened glass with no frame around it. One panel is fixed and one slides across it, and the hardware is the only metal you see. See our frameless sliding doors.

Sizes and openings we measure for
Each screen is made to your opening, so there is no standard width to match. Standard screen height is 2000mm, and taller screens are made to measure on request.
At the measure we check the things that decide how the screen fits:
Width of the opening. We measure at the top, middle and bottom, because walls are rarely the same width all the way up.
Plumb and level. A sliding door has to run true, so we check that the walls are straight and the floor or hob is level.
Where the door stacks. When a sliding door opens, one panel sits across the other. We work out which side suits you, and where the handle, the tap and the shower head sit.
What is beside the screen. A vanity, a toilet, a window or a bath edge each change the layout, and it is far cheaper to find that out before the glass is cut than after.
Toughened glass cannot be cut once it is made, which is why we measure first and cut the glass to your bathroom, not to a stock size.
Sliding or hinged, honestly
A hinged door opens across the full width of the opening, has fewer moving parts and suits a bathroom with room to swing. A hinged door can be up to 700mm wide and 40kg, so a wider opening gets a fixed panel beside the door.
A sliding door needs no swing room. The trade is that one panel slides across the other, so you get in through roughly half the width of the opening. Framed and semi frameless sliders also run in a track, and a track collects soap scum and wants an occasional clean.
For a small room, the sliding screen usually wins. For a bathroom with space, it comes down to the look you want.

Questions about sliding shower screens
A sliding screen is priced on measure, because the door hardware and your opening decide the figure. As a guide to the type, fully framed screens start from $935 installed and semi frameless from $990; the figure for a sliding door in either build comes after we measure your opening. Frameless sliding doors are priced on measure. Once we have measured, the price we quote is the price you pay. The measure visit is $55, credited to your install if you go ahead.
Any screen can let a little water past the door edge. Three things control it: the fall of the floor towards the drain, the seals on the door edge and the bottom of the panel, and a tight fit to the wall. We check all three when we measure and fit seals on install, so a small splash at the door edge does not become a puddle outside the shower. If water is escaping after install, tell us and we will look at it.
Yes. A sliding screen works over a bath in framed, semi frameless and frameless glass. We measure the bath lip and the tap position first, because the bath edge is rarely level and the screen has to sit on it cleanly. See our over bath shower screens.
There is no set width. We make each sliding screen to your opening and confirm it at the measure. A very narrow opening leaves little room for one panel to overlap the other, and if that is your bathroom we will tell you straight at the measure what works.
The installation itself takes about 2 hours once our installer arrives. We confirm your install date with you after the measure.
We're fully booked until Monday 3 November 2026. A deposit can still lock in your install slot from that date.
Start with the look and the budget. Fully framed starts from $935 and has the most visible frame, semi frameless starts from $990 and shows more glass, and frameless shows only glass. Tell us the room and what you like, and we say which suits it. After the measure we can price any of the three on your opening.
Our 12 month workmanship warranty covers the installation work. If something we fitted is not right, call 0421 717 044.
