Custom diamond-shaped matt black shower screen cut to an angled wall in a Sydney bathroom

Made to measure for the bathroom you actually have

A standard rectangular screen only works in a perfectly square opening — and almost no Sydney bathroom is. Walls lean, tiles step in and out, floors fall away to the drain, and corners are rarely a true 90°. Instead of hiding those gaps behind a thick bead of silicone, we cut the glass to match. Below is exactly how we customise every screen.

Glass that follows your tiles — not a silicone-filled gap

Tiles are rarely laid in a dead-straight line.

One tile in the middle of the wall often sits proud or set back from the rest — sometimes the whole wall bows out like a banana. A standard straight panel leaves a wedge-shaped gap that has to be packed with silicone. We cut the edge of the glass to step in and out with your tiles, so the screen sits tight against the wall with the thinnest possible silicone line. Less silicone means less mould, less cleaning, and a far sharper finish.

Cut to your wall's true angle — not just 90°

Most installers only cut a straight 90° corner. We cut the real angle.

Walls and floors often sit on an angle that's a little more or a little less than 90° — and a forced square panel ends up with a visible gap or a screen that won't sit plumb. We take a laser measure point by point down the wall and across the floor, capture the actual angle, and cut the glass to match it. The result is a screen that lines up cleanly top to bottom, with the most accurate finish possible.

Custom height — built to your tiles, not a fixed size

Standard isn't the only option.

Our standard screen heights are 2000mm for frameless and 1950mm for semi-frameless and fully framed. But if your wall tiles finish lower, we cut the screen down to sit neatly on the tile line — and if you'd prefer a taller, more enclosed shower, we build it higher.

Going taller? Two things to know (we handle both):
  • Above 2100mm high, Australian Standards require extra fixing — we add 3 or 4 wall brackets instead of two so the panel is properly anchored.
  • A panel wider than 1200mm needs a support bar to brace the glass and stop any wobble over time.

Your choice of glass

The glass itself is part of the customisation.

Beyond standard clear toughened glass, we can supply a range of glass types to suit the look, privacy and performance you're after:

Clear toughened Starphire low-iron Low-E Fluted / reeded Narrow-line Laminated safety Frosted / obscure

Starphire removes the green tint of standard glass for a crystal-clear look; Low-E resists watermarks and soap scum; fluted and narrow-line add texture and privacy; laminated adds an extra safety and acoustic layer. We'll talk you through the right glass for your shower at the measure.

installed. The price moves with glass area, hardware finish, glass type, how much custom cutting your walls and tiles need, and removal of the old screen. Custom shower screen questions, answered

A custom shower screen in Sydney typically costs between $1,400 and $3,850 installed. The price depends on the glass area, the hardware finish (chrome is standard; matt black, brass, gold, gun metal and brushed nickel cost a little more), how many custom cuts the glass needs to follow your tiles or wall angle, the height, and removal of your old screen. Straight, standard-size frameless, semi-frameless and fully framed screens start lower — from $880 — but anything cut to a non-standard shape or angle sits in the custom range. We give you one firm, all-inclusive quote after the on-site measure.

Yes — every Showerland shower screen is made to order for your exact bathroom. We don't fit off-the-shelf kits. After a laser site measure we cut the glass to your wall, your tiles and your chosen height, in frameless (10mm), semi-frameless (6mm) or fully framed glass, and in any hardware colour. If your walls aren't square or your tiles step in and out, we cut the glass to follow them rather than filling the gap with silicone.

Yes. Toughened glass can't be cut or drilled after it's tempered, so every panel is cut to your exact measurements before toughening. We laser-measure the opening point by point — width, height and the actual wall angle — then order the glass cut to those figures. That's how we follow a banana-shaped or out-of-square wall and match the glass edge to your tiles.

Custom glass costs more than a standard rectangular panel because the glass is cut to a bespoke shape, the wall angle is matched point by point, and premium glass types (Starphire low-iron, fluted, narrow-line, Low-E or laminated) cost more than standard clear toughened glass. As a guide, custom frameless work in Sydney runs from about $1,400 up to $3,850 for a large enclosure with premium hardware and tile-following cuts.

A bespoke (custom-made) shower screen in Sydney generally costs $1,400 to $3,850 installed — "bespoke" and "custom" mean the same thing here: glass cut to your bathroom's exact shape, angle and height rather than a standard size. The final figure depends on glass area, hardware finish, glass type and how much custom cutting your walls and tiles require. You'll get one fixed quote at the measure with no day-of surprises.
